Our Story
Akishi began at home — with two children, a pile of fabric scraps, and a very clear rule: no plastic toys.
During the COVID lockdown, our founder Anjani, a mother and a creative from the fashion world, was running a children’s clothing brand and made a few rag dolls for her own children using the scrap fabric. Soft, safe dolls, made with love by a mother for her own kids, with the kind of attention only a mother can give.
She shared a few photos on Instagram, just for fun. Then other parents started messaging her.
“Where are these dolls from? Can we get one too?”
And just like that, Akishi was born.

We envision a childhood that is slower, softer, and more intentional. One where play is driven by imagination, not screens — and toys are chosen with care, not simply speed and convenience.
To this end, we want to create safe, handmade dolls that nurture imagination, emotional growth, and mindful play — without plastic or quick dopamine.

We design every Akishi doll with the child in mind. Materials are chosen to feel gentle on small hands, faces are kept simple and calm, and construction is made to be safe for everyday play.
Sustainability Without Compromise
We use natural, eco-friendly materials and are strictly against plastic. These choices are built into how we design and make our dolls, not an afterthought. We believe toys should be safe for children today as well as mindful of the world they will grow into.
Slow & Mindful Creation
We choose handmade over mass-produced, quality over quantity, intention over speed.
We don’t rush our process. Each doll is made by hand, in small batches, allowing time to get things right. This approach helps us focus on quality and consistency, and it reflects our belief that children benefit from toys made with care, not urgency.
